In Brazil we are also named as "Albergues da Juventude" but be sure to find our trademark, thats your guaranty of our quality.

As part of our standards, brazilian federation allow you to make previous reservation directly to the hostels keeping all the same basic rules as defined bellow. Some hostels may have slight differences always in you favor.

NATIONAL RESERVATION AGREEMENT TERMS

Rates Rates in Brazil must be charged or converted to  Reais by the "tourism exchange rate" of the day as published in main papers.

Rates for members must be at least 30% less than those for non members

Rates are specific for each diferent kind of acomodation. Rates for dormitories don't aply to double rooms etc. 

Rates may include or not itens like breakfast and bedlinen, be sure to check it previously

THERE ARE NO EXTRA CHARGES OVER PUBLISHED RATES. TAXES ARE ALWAYS INCLUDED.

Reservations must be necessarily confirmed by deposit receipt. Valid deposits are through bank accounts or credit card - consult each hostel. Reservations without previous deposit won't be considerede in effect.

Published rates are specific for the published dates only and will vary according to season and national holidays. All rates are subject to Brazilian Federation rules.

All special offers are unique and can't be combined to others.

Regular check out time is midday (12 pm) and check in after 12:00 . At Ilha Grande, island of Rio de Janeiro, 11:00h am check out 10:00 am - due to the ferry .

Late check out may be possible only for Hostelling members according to hostel availability and will be charged in a percentage previously informed.

DEPOSIT

Deposits for previous reservations will vary according to season matters:

Best season - march, april, may, june, august, september, october and december - except for holiday's special packages, up to 50% of total stay.

High season - january, february and july -  except for holiday's special packages, 50% of total stay.

Special Holiday's packages - New Year's, Holly Week etc - 100% of stay.

Reservation's deposit can be done on a hostel's bank account  and its receipt's copy sent by fax, mail or email

Deposits will be only accepted during the given period of time. After that your reservation is subject to be cancelled by the hostel. Refund is subject to legal taxes and expenses deduction

The full amount of your total stay must be paid at arrival. Other expenses during the stay will be charged according to hostel's own policy

Only fully paid stay is considered effective

CANCELATIONS AND NO SHOW

All brazilian Hostelling International hostels will take previous reservations by published rates subject to previous deposit and under these rules. Any reservation implies on the fully acceptance of these terms from both guests and hostels.

Previous reservations are a compromise between guest and hostel and its cancellation by any part implies on a indemnity for losses to the other part as described bellow.

Best season - march, april, may, june, august, september, october and december - except for holiday's special packages, 

Deposit:up to 50% of total stay

Cancellation before 96 hours of check in - total refund

Cancellation from 96 to 48 hours of check in - 50% refund

Cancellation after 48 hours before check in - NO refund

High season - january, february and july -  except for holiday's special packages, 50% of total stay.

Deposit: 50% of total stay

Cancellation before 15 days of check in date - total refund

Cancellation from 14 to 8 days before check in date - 50% refund

Cancellation after 8 days before check in date - NO refund

Special Holiday's packages - New Year's, Carnaval, Holly Week and others specified on websites 

Deposit: 100% of total stay

Cancellation before 30 days of check in date - total refund

Cancellation from 29 to 15 days before check in date - 50% refund

Cancellation after 15 days before check in date - NO refund

Cancellation requests will be only accepted if writen and signed, via mail with receipt, fax or email - if scanned.

Cancellations after check in will be fully charged in any season. 

The guest is allowed to indicate another person in substitution on the same conditions and dates.

NO SHOW  It is considered No Show when the guests don't show up for check in on the established date.

In this case the reservation will be kept for 24h and after that will be cancelled with no refund.

Brazilian Hostelling International Rules

Full check in and payment are required upon arrival

Members must present valid card and other required documents

Members will allways pay at least 30% less than no members rates

Standard hostel's accomodations are dormitories separated by sex

Double and family's rooms have diferent rates

All hostels must offer lockers free of charge

The guest is expected to keep luggage in order inside or outside the rooms. NO responsability will be taken by the hostel for lost itens.

Check in starts from 2 pm. Check out up to midday - regardless of your check in time. At Ilha Grande, island of Rio de Janeiro, 11:00h am check out 10:00 am - due to the ferry

Hostels must provide every day cleaning of all rooms

Breakfast or bedlinen may included in your rate, check with hostels. Taxes are always included.

Bedlinen is mandatory, no sleeping bags are allowed to be used directly over the matresses

Please identify your food kept on the guest kitchen and don't use other identified goods.

Laundry, computers, telephones and other equipment's use is charged. Consult the hostel.

For safety and sanitary reasons it is not allowed to smoke, drink, eat or have visitors inside the rooms.

No drugs will be tolerated inside the hostels.

Any damages must be refunded imediately.

Please help us keeping all facilities clean and in good conditions. Save energy and water, nature will thank and pay back.
